CALL FOR ARTIST
We need your help! Please participate in Art in the Park by doing what your love to do — MAKE ART.
For the second year we are adding a venue is to support our scholarship efforts. 15 artists are being asked to create an art piece on the spot. As you paint, draw, sculpture, etc., Sunday, August 19 [at Art in the Park], a silent action will take place to sell your work. All proceeds will go into the MAA scholarship fund.
HOW IT WILL WORK: An area in the park will be set up for artists to “create” an art piece. Starting with a blank canvas, you will create your piece as people watch you work. Towards the end of the day your creation will be auction off. [Even if you have a vendor booth we hope you can go back and forth].
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: We are soliciting 15 artist to donate their time and art for this good cause. You only need to do three things:
1.) Contact AiP Live Art - info@martinezarts.org
2.) Be available on Sunday, August 19 to attend Art in the Park with Music
3.) Be willing to donate your supplies and time.
Mark you calendar now and let us know before AUGUST 1 that you would like to make art, be seen, have fun, and participate in this important fundraiser.
Friday, June 1, 2012 at 8:48AM From artist statement: I’d love to be able to say that the reason I make art is to see the joy on other peoples’ faces when they first see it, but I’d be lying. I make art because it’s exciting, satisfying and fun. It’s all about me! (Joke). When I first step away from a successfully completed piece of art I am elated, energized and thrilled. I feel like running over to the neighbors’ house and saying, “Look what I did! What do you think?” Since I’m a few years older than 7 now, I post it to my website and have art shows instead.
